Old Windows

A lot has happened in the past six months... where do I start? We had an extremely enjoyable time with our friends, Pelican, these Arms are Snacks, Russian Circles, Daughters, and Coliseum on our march SXSW tour. In June we popped a few tour cherries with Pride Swallower and Coliseum. Since then we have been chilling out at home writing a new record. After five years of dating my amazing lady friend Casey, we got married few weeks ago. I am still recovering for all of that chaos. Don't worry Young Widows will be back on tour this fall. We are going down to the "fest" in Gainesville, FL with the mind blowing Monotonix. If you don't know who they are please research that shit. We are either going to the west coast this winter or going to record another record. We haven't really decided what is more important at this point. We might play a few shows with Daughters in August, but I would cross your fingers.

Peace.

Home for the winter.

After six amazing weeks of touring we are back. Europe was great. We played a lot of great places that we probably shouldn't have and met some good folks. All and all it was a pretty exhausting tour, but our friend Martin and Akimbo kept us on the positives side of things for the most part. haha. We got to see a couple bone cathedrals and the Normandy Beaches. We also found out that europeans don't really like white sweatshirts, but that's alright. I think next time we go back it will be better routed and that will make everyone involved a lot happier.

We came home for about 30 hours then went back on tour with These Cocks are Horse Eels and Ass of the Artistech, or something like that. We had a most excellent time with those dudes. It is rare that out of two bads/ten people, that there isn't one guy who is super fucking annoying. So good job not being annoying or shitheads. We miss you all. River City Tanlines played the first four shows with us and we stole their drum stool. Sorry dudes, hopefully we will send that back soon. HAHA. French Toast played four shows with us, we got to spend our Halloween evening together, and play the Black Cat. The Black Cat is one of the best sounding venues on the east coast, not that that matters.

Three days after we got back, we played a show with Dead Child here in Louisville. Thanks to those dudes for the invite. I think they are on tour right now? Go see those fuckers.

I have got to go screen print some t- shirts. We will talk later.

Settle Down Shitty

Hey ya'll.

Our record is officially in stores today and our vinyl is available via das internet at www.auxiliaryrecords.com, so buy one of them if you would like. All those dudes on our last tour who said "I downloaded your record, but I am going to buy the 12 inch when it comes out", now is you time to act on that shit.

The Coliseum, Doomriders and Saviours tour was a good ol' time. Doomriders is going to Japan soon and playing a few shows with Boris on the west coast, Coliseum is touring the west coast around the same time, and Saviours are partying somewhere. Check those fuckers out.

We head to Europe next week to share a tour and a van with Akimbo. Also, our good friend Martin will be driving us to ensure an excellent time. Then a day after we get back we head to Chicago to meet up with our friends in These Arms Are Snakes for a 17 day eastern Canada/US tour. That will probably be all of the touring we do for the rest of the year, since we are scared of the snow. All European dates are posted below.

I just went to Tough and GO 25 last weekend and had a wonderful time. I am sure anyone else who was there would agree. Thank you T&G!

Peace.

August and beyond!

Hello again,

Just one more day until our first tour starts! Are you feeling as excited as we are?? Probably not. Honestly, I don't really know if anyone even reads this thingamablogger. That's is just fine.

We will have copies of our "Settle Down City" and copies of the Coliseum split on tour. Gas is expensive so we are trying to avoid using our trailer to save a little money. We might be short a guitar cab or two... it's a bummer, but I am sure I will beable fine with 8 speakers instead of 16. We are working on starting a European tour in Sept. We were planning on go to the UK as well, but that got fucked. We should make it there before the end of the year or early next year. Tour dates and our record release show are below.

Our first time...

So we did it. We played our first show. Now we can break up. Thanks to everyone who came out and traveled longer than a few miles. Pissed Jeans was great and one of the few deafening bands I have seen in the past four years. It's nice that there's a band like them out there!

We play again Friday June 9th at the Old Louisville Coffee house. here in Louisville Kentuckeeee.

The Coliseum split 7 incher is now going to be a split CDer, because 7 inchers are a fucking rip off or something like that. That CD will be available on our summer tour in late July and early august. Those dates will be posted soon.
